What to Expect on Your Tour

Our boat is specially designed to be fast, yet quiet, allowing for unobtrusive wildlife viewing. The creatures become accustomed to seeing the same white boat over and over so they don't feel threatened. Our custom boat is coast guard certified with life jackets and safety equipment onboard. The covered boat provides protection from the elements and has 30 inch sides making them safe even for babies and the very young. The shade keeps the tour cooler and breezy. Though we've never had an accident, we also have liability insurance.

about the tour

Meet Maria fifteen minutes before your tour begins at our office on East Lutcher Drive off of Interstate 10. Clean restrooms are available for you to use before your departure. Drinks are also available for purchase. From the office you will follow Maria to the nearby boat launch to begin your adventure.

Tours are approximately an hour and a half long and journey through twenty-five miles of Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana Sabine River Basin outback. Trips begin through the moss draped Blue Elbow Swamp as biologist, Captain Eli shares his knowledge of the biodiverse habitat. Visit a site once inhabited by cannibals, and travel into a swamp tunnel. Soaring eagles can be spotted taking care of their nests, and wild alligators soak up the sun. Blue Herons, Egrets and other magnificent birds are regularly spotted taking flight across the water. The marshes are home to colorful flora and fauna. Our ecotour is an adventure in wildlife and floral observation and education.
